Every year, Hampton Yacht Club hosts Southern Bay Race Week during the weekend following Memorial Day. Winning the nine-race series for the J/24s was Mike Veraldi’s QUICKY, posting six bullets on his way to victory with just 12 points net. The balance of the podium was a battle between Alan Bomar’s ROUNDABOUT and Ray Nugent’s ROCKET J. In the end, just one point separated them after the discard was calculated, leaving Bomar’s ROUNDABOUT in second place and Nugent’s ROCKET J taking the bronze.
