Oak Point, TX —May 28, 2022—Eight races were completed at the 2022 J/24 US
National Championship hosted by Dallas Corinthian Yacht Club in Oak Point, TX. Texas
winds did not disappoint with consistent 15 knot breezes and gusts that averaged around
20 on both days of racing. Mike Marshall (American Garage) with crew Jeff Hayden,
Dave Hughes, Alan Terhune and Rod Favela came into the final day in fourth place and
only 2 points behind a 3-way tie for first place. Although competition was tight, Marshall
secured a 2 nd , 3 rd and two bullets in the final 4 races for a total of 15 points overall to
retain the U.S National Championship title from his win in 2021. Solid competition
followed with Nobuyuki Imai (Siesta) placing second overall with 19 points and Travis
Odenbach (Bogus) in third with 21 points.

Top Five:
1 st : Mike Marshall, 4,[7],2,2,2,3,1,1 – 15 points
2 nd : Nobuyuki Imai, 2,6,1,4,3,1[25/UFD],2 – 19 points
3 rd : Travis Odenbach, 5,2,5,1,[6],2,2,4 – 21 points
4 th : Keith Whittemore, 1,[5],4,3,4,4,5,3 – 24 points
5 th : Paul Foerster, [7],3,3,7,1,6,4,5 – 29 points

The 2022 US National Championship was coordinated with the organizers of the 2022
World Championship. Sixteen of the twenty-four teams that competed at this event will
be racing at the Worlds in July 2022.
