The annual J/Fest Ventura Regatta took place off Ventura, CA for a fleet of eight J/24s. The host Ventura Yacht Club RC/PRO team managed to run eight fast races July 19-20. Opening with a bullet, Susan Taylor and her TAKE FIVE team never looked back, posting a 1-3-DSQ-4-1-2-2-2 for 15 points net. She did have to win the countback tiebreaker at 15 points each with Dan Cheply’s ABRACADABRA from the host club. Cheply’s team posted all podium finishes of 3-2-1-3-2-3-3-1.
