Thanks to Dave Elsmo for the report:

On August 15–16, eleven J/24s competed in the 2026 J/24 Great Lakes Championship in Madison, WI. The regatta was co-hosted by the Mendota Yacht Club and the Hoofer Sailing Club, with six visiting teams joining the local fleet for a weekend of competitive racing. Seven races were completed over the two-day event. Saturday brought light and shifty conditions, resulting in a mid-day postponement on shore. Racing resumed later in the afternoon, allowing the fleet to complete three races. Sunday featured an early start, with four races completed as the breeze steadily built throughout the day. Minnesota team Electric Mayhem, skippered by Mike Myers, claimed the Championship with 15 points. Blur, another Minneapolis-based team skippered by Ben Brewer, finished second with 20 points. Local team Alibi, skippered by Phil Morley, also finished with 20 points to take third place. A sincere thank you goes out to all of the volunteers, Race Committee members and judges whose time and dedication helped make the 2026 J/24 Great Lakes Championships a success.
