As they have for decades, the Beverly Yacht Club again rolled out their welcome mat to legions of sailors from across the New England coastline to sail in all manner of boats for the Buzzards Bay Regatta. Enjoying somewhat classic Buzzards conditions were a range of one-designs. The top six J/24s were all in contention to win their class until the final race. Margaret Borden and her Heffa’s team from Newport took the gold after starting out with a 2-1-1-5-2-3. After an eighth in race 7, they took home a 3-3 to win with 20 points. Joe Mozzone on Boreas from the home club managed a 4-2-2-3-1-5-3-4-2 for 21 points net and second place. Third was Craig Correia’s Queequeg with just 24 points net. Fourth and fifth, respectively, were Jamie Ciffolillo’s Wild Thang and Craig Fidler/Sanford Tyler’s Straight Jacket.
