The 2014 J/24 North Americans in Mexico, March 16-21, 2014 at Marina Rivera Nayarit Nuevo Vallarta, Nayarit Mexico is the “Nations” qualifier for the 2015 Pan American Games. The “Open” Pan American Keelboat class is the J/24! There will be two qualifying spots available there. The top two finishing Nations will qualify their nation for the Pan Am Games. Canada is already in since they are the 2015 host nation. There are also two nations spots available at the 2014 South American Championships to be held November 10-16th in La Punta – Callao, Peru. If the USA does not win a qualifying spot at the North Americans in Mexico, a US team can win a Nations spot in Peru. Assuming the US qualifies for the Pan American Games in 2015, financial support will be available from US Sailing on behalf of the US Pan American Games committee. We encourage as many J/24 Class members as possible to compete in the 2014 North Americans to help the USA win a qualifying spot for the Pan American Games. Assuming the USA wins one of the qualifying spots, we then encourage all Class members to compete for the right to represent your country. This is your chance to compete in an international event and represent your country on the world stage. Looking for more information?
