Charleston Ocean Racing Association (CORA) announced the final standings in the 2014 J/24 Fleet 7 Championship with USA 2260 LEVEL PELICAN taking fleet honors (Crisp McDonald – Helm, Scott Weller – Trimmer, Rob Bowden – Tactics, Taylor Harris – Mast, and Margaux Bacro-Duverger – Bow). The nearly 40 ‘points’ scoring events began in early January and ran through mid-October, including both Charleston Race Week and the Charleston Yacht Club Open Regatta. Racing came down to the wire as four boats were separated by less than 10 points going into the final few events. In the end, LEVEL PELICAN was able to seal the championship with podium finishes in the remaining events. In addition to the J/24 Fleet 7 Championship, Rob Bowden – Tactician on LEVEL PELICAN took home the J/24 Fleet 7 ‘Crew of the Year’ Award for his dedication to J/24 Fleet 7 racing in 2014. J/24 Fleet 7 makes up the largest one design keelboat fleet in Charleston and races year round both near shore and on Charleston Harbor. Big congratulations to Crisp McDonald and the LEVEL PELICAN on their fleet championship and to Rob Bowden on his Crew of the Year award.
