Dillon Yacht Club’s annual Dillon Open is sailed on the Dillon Reservoir high up in the Rocky Mountains. Greg Schertz, PRO for Dillon Yacht Club running the races said, “Yes, we have challenging sailing sometimes at the nation’s highest sailing club.” Sailing with past J/24 World Champion Vince Brun on board, Frank & Vivian Keesling’s THE DUMPSTER won the J/24 fleet, after Greg & Susan Johnson’s PINOTAGE shredded their spinnaker and jib all at once rounding the windward mark in a 50mph hail-infested vertical micro-burst. THE DUMPSTER posted a 1-1-3-3-2-2-3 for 15 points total. The Johnson’s PINOTAGE had a impressive scoreline of 3-2-1-2-3-1-5 for 17 points total.
