Over the November 3-4 weekend, J/24 Fleet 169 and the St. Petersburg Yacht Club hosted the Southeast Regionals. Fourteen boats were in attendance from Vermont, Atlanta, Charleston, Jacksonville, Miami, Tampa and St. Pete. Sailors were treated to some tricky conditions in Tampa as a weak cold front passed through on Friday evening. Saturday morning saw NNE winds of 18-20 slowly dying throughout the day. Five races were completed in tricky chop where boat speed and changing gears were key. Sunday saw a dying Easterly with one race sailed in about 8 knots which died to 4 knots by the finish. Mark Liebel and his team on USA 799 showed great boat speed and flawless tactics to take home the SE Championship title. USA 799 was followed by John Poulson and his team on Longshot in second and Todd Fedyszyn and crew sailing on Spoony Tactics in third place overall.
