Thanks to Joe Buonasera for this report: Fleet 182 and the Sayville Yacht Club hosted another successful District 3 Championship. Although there were only 10 boats in competition for the new perpetual D3 trophy, the racing was very spirited. A total of nine races were held between the two days of the regatta, with five on day one with steady winds of 15+ and day two with four races. The Shake-n-Bake team of Dan Cameron and Steve Thomas, already destined for the 2019 World Championship in Miami in October, took first place. Second was won by Aiden Glakin and his team on Mental Floss, who will also be competing at the Worlds. Rounding out the winners was Dan Busch and his team on Bushwacker. Fleet 182 would like to thank all of the volunteers at the Sayville Yacht Club for another successful regatta, especially PRO Paul Macmenamin and his RC crew. Fleet 182 would also like to remind everyone that registration is now open for the Good Samaritan Hospital 2020 J/24 North American Championship which will be held May 27-31, 2020 at the Sayville Yacht Club. See you there!
