The annual Cinco de Mayo Regatta in Santa Barbara, CA is a favorite for one-design keelboats in the region, hosted by Sail Santa Barbara Sailing Club. The conditions on Saturday included winds ranging from 240 to 270 deg at 4-8 knots; Sunday’s sunny breezes built midday from the west around 4-8 knots. The Sail SBSC RC and PRO crew managed to knock out seven races for the J/24s. Klatt’s team on JADED dominated the J/24 fleet with all bullets to end up with just 6 points net after discarding a first. Almost taking all seconds for the silver was Taylor’s USA 2223 with 12 points net. Rounding out the podium in the bronze slot was Nidzieko’s YOUNG FOOLS with 18 points net.
