Thanks to Brad Hamby for this report: Fleet 174 had our first race on 31 May. It was fantastic to get back out on the water and mix it up a little! We are a small fleet of nine located on the beautiful Lake Pend Oreille at Windbag Marina in Sandpoint, Idaho. We had five boats come out for three two-lap races with a steady 15-18 knot southerly fading as the day progressed. In closely contested races, Wild One took the day with a couple bullets followed by Atomic, Jester, Rhumba Girl and Phoenix. We look forward to our next race on June 14. The fleet is growing with four new owners this year, and we plan to add a couple additional boats to the mix next season! We have a short season given our location in the Idaho panhandle, but get in about eight fleet races every other Sunday between Memorial Day and Labor Day. In addition, a few boats travel to gorgeous Flathead Lake each year for the Montana Cup as well a trip to Seattle to get tips from arguably the strongest fleet in the US. Sail fast and have fun!
