As always, we are lucky to have pictures donated by Tim Wilkes: “It’s been an incredible experience. The people I’ve met along the way. The experiences I’ve had from North America to Europe to South Africa, South America, Mexico and on back to the good old USA. Traveling the world with a camera and experiencing so many beautiful ports and bodies of water is something I will never forget.
Sailing may have declined since the peak days of Key West Race Week in the late 90s, given changes in the economy and the lack of free time for sport, but there is never a shortage of great people who you meet along the way. Sailors are some of the most interesting and reliable people I’ve ever met. Today, our small team of photographer, videographer and social media/image management expert is still enjoying involvement in some of the best regattas in the country and worldwide. Our Full Media Service is more relevant than ever given today’s promotional demands, and our printing service is second to none. All of our printing is done in-house to archival standards and Giclée printing processes up to 4 feet wide and 12 feet long. We are looking forward to more J/24 Class involvement, and I continue to sail the J/24 when my schedule allows.” The calendar also features photographs from Christopher Howell, J/24 Class Executive Director, who takes social media pictures at the USJCA’s major Championships, including the Midwinters, Nationals, North Americans and Worlds.
